Sarod maestro Ustaad Amjad Ali Khan wows the audience with a soulful performance - 23rd January 2023

An evening dedicated to a melody that dances with such harmony, a timeless sound that captures the soul and coaxes forth a vibrant and intricate sound that speaks to the heart. In the hands of a master musician- Amjad Ali Khan, The sarod’s strings sing a sweet symphony, and beauty takes a toll.

Music is said to be the universal language of mankind. One that connects people emotionally, carrying the message of agreeable harmony. It is an outburst of the soul, evoking life itself.

On an appeasing evening at the Prestige Shrihari Khoday Centre of Performing Arts, Ustaad Amjad Ali Khan- a maestro in Sarod and a Padma Vibhushan recipient with his two sons Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan and his two grandsons mesmerised Bengalureans to the beauty and complexity of Indian classical music.

The Sarod maestro’s extraordinary performance truly showcased the beauty and complexity of the unique instrument. Through intricate melodies, complex rhythms, and the hauntingly beautiful sound of the Sarod, the evening seized the hearts and minds of music lovers in the room, becoming an integral part of the cultural heritage of the auditorium’s values.

As the performance progressed, the artists displayed their technical skill and artistic interpretation, using diverse techniques to create a range of sounds and effects. 

 

The evening concluded with the three generations of Khans coming together and feeling gratitude for the loudest applause heard in the city that evening.
